Dress to Impress

My first blog on theleahjournal.com was about dressing to impress.

Yes, we should dress to impress. With so many fashion blogs and sites, I understand that many people do dress to impress. The thing is, many have their minds set on impressing the world. They want to look good for their boss, the new guy at school, the cute waiter at a restaurant, and even those online who may scroll through their social media pages. But in reality, our focus should be on impressing our Heavenly Father. Above all, HE is the one who matters most.

Secondly, we should dress to impress those who look up to us and those we come into contact with. Not by wearing expensive clothing that reveals our bodies, but by wearing things that show our love and respect for the word of God. There’s nothing wrong with wearing designer clothes as long as they are modestly styled.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to have someone talk about you as a godly example? As someone who adheres to the word of God? As someone who dresses modestly and let’s your inner light shine instead of your outward appearance?

We need to understand that we belong to God. Read that again. We belong to God. We do not own our bodies. God does. That should make you WANT to cover it up.

See 1 Corinthians 6:19-20:

1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

I pray these thoughts of mine touch your heart, and if you dress immodestly, you will change your style.

With Christian Love,

Leah
